These properties are located in Judith Basin County and twelve miles east of Monarch, Montana. Monarch is an old mining town that sprang up in the 1880’s. There were three adjacent mining claims at the time and were known as the “King,” “Czar” and the “Emperor” and this may account for the name of Monarch. PROPERTY DESCRIPTION: This offering of property comprises eleven Patented Mining Claims. All of these Patented Mining Claims are remote and high elevation recreational property with elevations from 6000 to 6600 feet. Access is via a county road and easements. The last mile and a half to the property is not maintained in the winter. These Patented Mining Claims have all surface rights and the top 100 feet of mineral rights, that will transfer to a new buyer.

All of the tracts except Tract #7 & 8 border the Lewis and Clark National Forest Service along a portion of its boundary.

Approximately 8 to 10 years ago, some timber was harvested from some of the property. The tracts with the most timber harvested were Tract #1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 7. The remaining tracts are still timbered. All offer outstanding panoramic mountain views in every direction.
There are no utilities to any of the acreages, but are ideal for seasonal cabin sites.

Showdown Ski Area is only a short 35-mile drive on Kings Hill Pass and boasts thirty-four runs and 1,400 feet of vertical drop. Cross-country skiers will find approximately twenty miles of groomed cross-country ski trails for winter time enjoyment.
